The committee of Episcopal Theologians has said that they cannot "recommend authorizing the development of new rits" for the blessing of same sex couples. Why? "Liturgy provides cohesion for the Anglican Communion." Since we do not agree on the status of sexuality, we should not adopt a new liturgy.
"Faithfuness and the courage to offer love and acceptance to those with whom we disagree is the great need of the moment.... Sensitive restraint and mutual forbearance is needed rather than a vot that might 'win' the argument.... we are unable to reach a common mind.... There is much we do not understand."

I slept in a bit today, in part because I still have this nagging sore throat. Planned to go into the city for an economic justic meeting. It was cancelled. Whimps.
Still, I was able to get some work done here. I'm putting together a "broadsheet" that will just include a few announcements. This will relieve some of the pressure upon margit and I to get it out. It's easy to put a broadsheet together. But folks, we need some input on articles. We're sharing the burden here!
I'm also still recruiting for the passion this Sunday. Fortunately, I don't need to preach much: The story speaks for itself.
Tim Fink, the organ builder, and I discussed a bit about selling the organ. "You won't get any money for it," he said. "If you want to get an electronic one, just do that. Don't sell your organ." Its the rolls of organs, after all.
Tonight two meetings: Building and Grounds and Finance. Scheduled them together deliberately. I also gave the initial prayer at the common council meeting. I prayed to God that we were tired of the snow. That got a couple laughs. One council woman remarked, "thank you for merging humor with the tasks at hand."
Today Tony, who owns a construction company, agreed to purchase a water heater. We'll have it installed at the end of the week.
I think i'm going to get some wings. With water, of course, since I'm still on my Lenten agreement.

There were 53 people in church today. It was beautiful outside, but after church people commented about expecting snow.
There were only the Shofis in Sunday School. We didn't have much of an after church education event, as everyone was talking a lot, and the normal people interested were in choir. Its the same people. Always. I'm hesitant to interfere in people's talking time.
Arthur Sorensen is in the hospital. I've felt a bit sick, so I haven't gone to St. Agnes yet.
Tomorrow I'm going into the city for an economic justice committee meeting. We're meeting in Chinatown.
And now, the play. After, Dick Riley and I will talk a little about having the conservatory play some concerts here at St. Barts.

Sorry for the long absence. A couple things:
Looking for a radio for the church. Any radios out there?
Bishop Dennis has passed away. The funeral will be at 10:30 April 9th at the Cathedral. Mark Sisk will be preaching.
SHORE is looking for "social lenders" who would lend from $5000-$15,000 for a project. They would repay the balance.
Today, Stephen Hurt and I spoke with the teachers of the Nursery school about doing a joint venture.
Worked on the bulletin and sermon.
